The expectation of peace and safety on public land outweighs dog owners' rights. You don't have to have a dog, but you do have the right to free travel. The bigger responsibility falls on the dog owner.

Met Shaner at the Wheeler trail head in the Early crack morn. Did the trusty Wheeler East fork middle fork Ice box loop. Had to use lights until almost to Ice Box. Frost on the trail going up East fork... I guess Fall is in the air. Temps were about perfect though. One Skunk crossing - no spray down - luckily. Great morn.

Ice on the trail? :( I can't believe the warm weather is on its way out already! It still seems like it should be summer.

That is so cool that you saw a live skunk today! I have only seen them dead on the road. I would love to see a live one out and about. Way cool!
