The expectation of peace and safety on public land outweighs dog owners' rights. You don't have to have a dog, but you do have the right to free travel. The bigger responsibility falls on the dog owner.

| A very HOT afternoon run. Temps near or above 100 degrees. Took a ice cold water bottle out with me but, by mile 2 it was warm. Miles actually felt ok - nothing to serious 8:04, 7:57, 7:55, 7:49. Hoping to get wheelers in tomorrow night! | Comments(2) |

Wow!!! Decided to hit Wheelers after work, so I headed up there around 5:30 it was a good tough climb for me today. Work took us to Iggys for lunch so, a Fish-n-Chips and a few drinks later I was thinking why didn't I get a salad.
On the way down the main trail I had a prompting to run down the middle of the trail because something was lurking on the trail ahead. I thought ok. I've tried to follow those promptings when they come... and good thing about a mile down the trail there was a monster rattlesnake on the right side of the trail! It made me jump about 15 ft in the air! It was shaking it's rattle like crazy. Who knows what would've happed, but I'm greatful for the prompting!

Great after the storm run with Bro HairDog. We did the Shane Stake Center Island Loop. We pretty much talked the first few miles and then tried picking it up. Both of us were feeling the effects of some sweet h2o skiing this morning. Lake was perfect. 8:45, 8:25, 8:09, 7:58, 7:45, 7:42 last .26 at 5:29 pace... I won. Need a good long run!

Grat early morning run with the Boothman. We decided to do the Garden of Eden race in reverse. It would have been fun getting in the race, but it snuck up on us to fast. Here are the splits 8:35, 8:10, 8:02, 8:02, 8:12, 7:29, 8:27 (spring mtn climb), 6:24, 6:55, 7:09, last .26 at 5:27 pace. Legs felt heavy the first 4-5 miles Pretty much slight uphill those miles. Little break before Spring Mtn. Then a crusier back. Surprised at how good I felt. That's a good sign I guess. When we hit the down Booth turned on the rockets - Had to push it to keep him in my sights.
