Another spectacular day on the trails up at SnowBasin! Decided to hit the Bryce Snowbasin Half again and try and improve on my time. Hit Wheelers early there were already a bunch of cars at the TH. Just like last time a crew of mtn bikers were almost ready to take off, so I double timed it to start before they did. Felt relaxed and smooth all the way up to Art Nord - about a quarter mile up East Fork a cow was sitting on the trail looking ticked. I tried a few things to get it to move, but it was snorting and kicking its hind leg.. So, I waited a few more minutes for the mtn bike crew I had put some time on to catch up. I jump on the inside of the bikes and as we went past the cow it started jumping and kicking - I thought it was going to charge, but it stayed put luckily...
Ended up knowing a few of the bikers so, we chatted for a minute - good times. I got out in front of them and never saw them again.. Tried pushing the pace to the top of Green Pond loop (school hill) to make up for some of the down time. Took a gu at the top and tried to let it roll all the way to maples. Once I hit the down from Maples I started hitting a serious mtn bike train... Ice Box always makes it all worth it - not a soul either - perfect.
Made it back to my car in 2:22 (total time) so, 6 minutes faster than last time and I probably lost another 10-15 minutes of that talking and dealing with the cow, so my new goal is to get this thing under two hrs.
